Edit Objects Within Your Custom Maps

Learn how to delete objects, hide or show elements, and more.

Both custom boundaries and drawings are editable in certain ways. The placement and shape of each can be edited, and then there are some differences between what else can be edited. (Learn more about the differences between boundaries and drawings here: Boundaries vs Drawings)

Move Your Drawings

Follow these steps to move drawings, such as points or text boxes, to a new position on the map:

  1. Simply click on the drawing, such as a point or text box, and drag to the desired position.
  2. Release your click to set the drawing in its new place.

 

Move Your Custom Boundary or Shape Drawing

Follow these steps to move shapes, such as a polygon, pivot, or circle — whether a custom boundary or a shape drawing — to a new position on the map:

  1. Select your shape by clicking anywhere inside the shape 
    1. This opens edit mode, highlighting the shape and revealing black and white points.
  2. Click again and drag the shape to the desired position.
  3. Release your click to set the shape in its new place.

Edit the Shape of Your Custom Boundary or Drawing

Follow these steps to edit shapes, such as a polygon, pivot, or circle — whether a custom boundary or a shape drawing:

  1. Select your shape by clicking anywhere inside the shape.
    1. This opens edit mode, highlighting the shape and revealing black and white points.
  2. You will use these points to adjust the shape by clicking and dragging.
    1. Click on the black dot to move the black dot and the two lines connected to the other black dot.
    2. Click on the white dot to split the elbow and create a new black dot.

Edit Boundaries 

  • Custom boundaries can be edited as highlighted above: by moving the shape to another position or adjusting the shape. 
  • The only other customization available is changing the color of all of your boundaries. Click here to learn more: Change Boundary Line Colors

 

Edit Drawings 

Besides moving or editing the shape of drawings, there are a few other customizations available. Open edit mode of any drawing by either (1) clicking on the name of the drawing in your selections panel (see gif below) or (2) clicking on the black Info Tool cursor then clicking on your drawing, which will bring up a small window on the top left. From there click Edit. This will open the Edit Window on the right. 

  1. To edit the title of the drawing, click Details and change the title.
  2. To add a description, click Details and write a description up to 500 characters.
  3. To edit border colors and opacity, click Format.
  4. To edit fill color and opacity, click Format. 
  5. To attach images, click Media.
    1. Images can be a .JPG, .PNG, or .WEBP with a max of 150MB.
    2. Note that a map must be saved before you can add images.

Hide/Show Customizations

  • Drawings can be hidden and shown from your map as an entire group or as individual drawings. 

  • Click the eyeball icon next to Drawings on your Selections Panel to hide/show all drawings. 

  • Click the eyeball icon next to individual drawings on your Selections Panel to hide/show that particular drawing.

  • Boundaries cannot be hidden from view at this time.
