Search Within a Layer
Convert your data layer into a boundary to search within
Some of our layers require a subscription. Access to ALL 3,000+ layers requires an Enterprise subscription specifically. Click here to compare our plans and upgrade your plan.
Steps
- Select Layers in the left navigation menu.
- Find your desired layer. In this example, we searched Opportunity Zones 2025 - US and selected the layer. Note that to search within a layer, the data needs to be displayed as a shape (as opposed to points or lines).

- Look for eligible polygons to convert. In this example, we zoomed into Florida and looked for OZ eligible polygons near Fort Pierce.

- Select a polygon to open the details — they will populate on the same left-hand layers panel.
- In the bottom left corner, click Convert to Boundary. This will create a selected boundary to work with in the right-hand selections panel.
(Note: You can convert multiple polygons into boundaries. You can also bulk select data layers and bulk convert them to boundaries — read more below.)
- Click on the X at the top right of the left panel to close the layer details. This will retain your selected boundary on the right selections panel.
- Once your boundaries are selected, you can use this criteria for any area search filter (Sold Land, Lead List, Parcel Search, etc.).
To run a Parcel Search specifically, click the Search Bar in the top left of your map and click Parcel Search. - In the left panel for Parcel Search, find Define Search Area and choose Selections.

- Add any other search criteria of interest (for instance acreage range) and click Search.
- The results will be returned in the left panel and shown as yellow dots on the map. You can zoom in to further evaluate the properties fitting your search criteria in the specific layer boundary.
(Note: Clicking on a result in the list view will jump you to that specific parcel.)
You can now clear any converted layer boundaries from your selections panel before building up a new map, however if this is a search you will come back to we recommend saving your map to save future steps.
Bulk Convert Multiple Data Polygons To Boundaries
When a layer is opened, you'll see all data points in a list view on the left-hand layers panel. (Make sure Data, not Appearance or Details, is selected to see this view.)
In this example, we filtered our layer down to get 14 results. To bulk convert these 14 shapes to boundaries, click the top check box to select all (or only select the results you are interested in) and then click the →| convert icon.
From here, you will follow the same steps to run a search by this criteria by defining your search area as your selected boundaries.
