Video Tutorial: Get to Know the New Plat Map Layout

Get a quick tour of the new tabs and layout so you can make the most of Acres.

You may have noticed over the past few months that the left hand menu was getting crowded. Our team just released a new layout to make room for future updates and provide a better experience!

To help familiarize you with these changes, here's a quick video tour. Below, you'll also find a breakdown of where to find key features using the new layout.

Introducing the Top Menu Bar and Workspaces

The top menu bar is a new addition that allows you to toggle between a few different Workspaces: the Map, Customize, and (if you are an Enterprise subscriber), your Portfolio view.

Workspaces

  • Map: The map tab is, as you might have guessed, the Plat Map view, which allows you to toggle between layers, like For Sale, Sold Land, and Insights. Use this layer when you are evaluating a market area or property.
  • Customize: This tab allows you to create a custom map or edit an existing saved map.
  • Portfolio: The portfolio view allows you to view all saved properties. Filters are available for easy sorting, and you can toggle between your saved maps or your entire organization’s portfolio.

Managing Your Account

You’ll find your profile icon in the upper right corner now. This menu allows you to manage your account and subscription.

Map Settings

Not to be understated, map settings allow you to change the base map, toggle owner names, and switch between parcel and FSA boundaries. You’ll find map settings in the bottom left corner of the map.

The Gear Icon includes several options:

  • Base Maps: Toggle between satellite view, topography, street view, dark mode, and light mode to customize your experience on the Plat Map.
  • Insight Overlays: These settings are available when you are using the Customize tab mentioned above. While customizing a map, you can toggle on any of the Insight Overlays listed and adjust the opacity. This allows you to trace and/or annotate elevation lines, flood zones, or different soil types on a property.

Boundary Toggle

  • FSA: To view individual contiguous farming parcels as defined by the Farm Service Agency (FSA), select this setting.
  • Parcel: To switch back to parcel boundaries, select this setting.
  • Toggle Owner Names On or Off: Click the arrow and then check or uncheck the box to toggle owner names on or off while exploring the Plat Map.
