Use Advanced Search

Learn how to access and use Advanced Search features to find properties on Acres.

 

In this article, you’ll learn how to use these features to quickly find properties on Acres. You can use any of these search filters individually or in combination with each other.

Open Advanced Search

  • To open Advanced Search, click on the filter icon to the right of the Search Bar.
  • This will open the Advanced Search filter menu on the left-hand side of the screen.

 

Search by Owner Information

  • To search by Owner Name, enter a name and then select the name(s) you’re looking for from the dropdown menu.
  • To search by Owner Tax Address, enter an address and then select the correct address(es). 
  • Click Search to view your results.

Note: Acres+ users can search by Owner Name and Parcel #. For more Advanced Search options, an Acres Pro or Enterprise subscription is required. Compare our plans here. 


 

Search by Location

You can search locations in the contiguous U.S. using any of the location fields shown in the Advanced Search menu. 

Scroll to the Define Search Area section and select either State/County, Shape, or Selections.

State/County filters include:

  • State
  • County
  • Township-Range
  • Section
  • Parcel Number

Shape filters are great for searching within a certain area not defined by county, etc. Options here include:

  • Polygon — Click your starting point then click to create your shape. Double click or hit Return to complete the shape.
  • Rectangle — Click and drag to create a rectangle. Square miles are measured as you adjust the size.
  • Radius — Click and drag to create a circle. The radius is measured in feet as you adjust the size.

Note: The maximum searchable shape size is 31,250 sq. miles.

Search by Selections if you want to search within custom boundary or boundaries that are added to your Selections Panel.

Click Search to view available results or narrow the search further with other criteria.

Other Filter Options

  • Acreage Range
    • Add a minimum and/or maximum number of acres to include in your search.
    • Note that not including a maximum won’t cap the acreage in your results.
  • Crop Type
    • Search by Crop type and Year by clicking on the dropdowns and making your selections. 
    • Note that one crop and year can be selected at a time. Including a year is required.
    • Note that results are limited to parcels greater than 5 acres.
  • Soil Score
    • Use the dropdown menu to select the Index to search within.
    • From there you will include the range (specific to the index scores) to search within.
    • Note that selecting an area-specific soil index will limit results to the area which uses that index.

 

Tips:

  • To clear your search filters, select Clear Filters to the right of the category that you want to clear filters from.
  • To include adjacent parcels that have matching owner names and/or addresses in your search results, select the Include adjacent parcels in results option right above the Cancel and Search buttons at the bottom.
